The Books

Where attention goes, energy follows.

Tired of working in an Every-thing workplace where you're so busy you can't ever catch your breath? Or fed up with the frustration of a stifling No-thing workplace where getting anything done is impossible?

From personal experience, conversations with clients, and extensive research, Gayle Smerdon PhD realised the importance for organisations to stop wasting time, money, and people's goodwill by trying to do far too much or far too little.

By doing ONE THING and doing it deep, Gayle shows how you can focus on progressive incremental changes that will enrich your workplace culture. By harnessing the energy of focused attention on ONE THING, you can foster greater organisational health, achievement and maybe even a better world.

COntinuous Learning is our professional advantage

Gayle released her book, iDevelop: how to take charge of your professional development by becoming a conscious learner, in 2019. It comes out of a desire to strengthen current workplace learning practices that prioritise developing and sharing information over thinking about how we support employees and leaders to learn.

It takes account of the different needs, interests, abilities and drives in our learners. And it means reframing our understanding of learning as a natural activity - something everybody, everywhere, every day does - and brings it into a new awareness.

iDevelop is a thought-provoking guide for individual learners who want to find greater meaning and purpose in their working lives. It offers practical step-by-step instructions in identifying what to learn; how to find resources and support; how to create, action and reflect on small personal learning experiments; and how to overcome blocks to progress.
